About Us
Our company was started on Sept. 5, 2003 the day my wife Debbie was laid off from an accounting position in the aircraft industry.
I had been working on a design for a blind fold that the performer could see out of yet the participant could not, I felt I had come up with a pretty good design and wanted to keep it a secret but circumstances changed so I decided to market them.
Stevens Magic Emporium has been our sole distributor for our products until March of 2004. I greatly value Mark and Joe Stevens’ friendship and help since our start. During my formative years I attended St. Patrick’s Grade School and St. Pius X High School. I was first introduced to magic in the late 60's early 70's but this interest was short lived as a teenager I found many other things of interest. In the late 90's Woodlawn Baptist Church needed entertainment for the Vacation Bible School (Debbie being the Chairman of the Education Department, I received an offer I could not refuse), so we decided to do a magic show and the magic bug bit. With the inspiration from God I do a Gospel magic effect once a month for the children and congregation. We have done various shows including birthday party’s and church camps.
Our company name was the idea of my wife Debbie’s father, Arlys Carter. Debbie’s mother Janice has also been a wealth of information in the design and construction of many of the sewn products.
In 1999 I was honored to be married to Debbie, the woman of my dreams (a wonderful blessing from God). We have three children Josh, Melanie, and Travis ( also wonderful blessings) (most of the time).
Josh is 18 and a senior in high school, he and his team mate placed first in the state DECA competition. He will be attending college next year. Melanie is our beautiful 16 year old daughter who is very active in church as well as school activities. Travis is 14, in several sports along with being a participant of the local International Brotherhood of Magicians youth group. Both Melanie and Travis have helped in several magic shows.
I am a member of the Christian Fellowship of Magicians and the 2003-2004 vice president of local IBM chapter, Ring 47 .
Through this company we hope to help others bring the stories from the bible alive for people who may not otherwise take the time to listen to a sermon or read the bible.
We have truly been blessed by God. We have made several new friends and I hope we make many more. There are many people I would like to thank so many in fact that I would surely miss some. So as not to upset anyone I will just say thank you to all.
